wow... time is going by so quickly these days! functions and testing, activities being planned, graduations to attend, appointments to get kids to and so-on....
Gabby is going into middle school this coming school year. Im in shock! How is it possible that she is olmost 12 already?! She has been getting into trouble at school lately, im trying to use it to her advantage. For example... she and her new bff slipped outside durring lunch to get a headstart on recess. with NO adult supervision. Her friend is a troublemaker and when the girls were caught they got sent to the principles office. well, of course Gabbys friend said it was all Gabbys idea, she was innocently going to see a teacher when Gabby draged her outside. yeah right! at worst, it was a mutual idea. So, I focused on the 'poor choice in friends gets you into trouble' aspect. when asked how she felt about what her bff did, she said, well im thinking she isnt realy my friend. BINGO! i thought:) if she can learn these lessons now, she can save herself from soooo much trouble later...
so anyway, im pushing for her to take band. she seems to be made for playing the clarinette and she likes it, so she will be in band next year. Gabby is a very unique and eclectic girl. she is one of a kind and it takes a mature person to be able to appreciate that part of her. I want her to have a group of kids that she will have something in common with that are not as likely to get her into trouble.
the rest of the kids are all doing good, no major stuff going on there...
